Most shops won't touch a carb. We built the shop around one.

Bleed for Speed is Southern California's carburetor specialist — dirt bikes, ATVs, motorcycles, UTVs, jet skis and vintage machines. Clean and rebuild from $120, vapor blast for the factory finish, mail-in from anywhere in the US.

One carburetor. Eight places it goes wrong.

6Pilot jet & idle circuit

What goes wrong

The idle circuit has the smallest holes in the carb, so it clogs first when a machine sits.

What we do

Every passage in the idle circuit gets ultrasonic time, the pilot jet is cleaned or replaced, and the air screw and idle speed are set on the bench.

Before After

Vapor blasting. Not just clean — factory fresh.

A slurry of water and fine media, driven by compressed air, cleans and polishes aluminum without removing material or leaving abrasive residue behind. Drag the handle.

  • Leaves a smooth satin finish that repels future dirt and buildup
  • Removes oxidation, corrosion and thirty years of grime without damaging the metal
  • Cleans internal passages and external surfaces at the same time
  • No harsh chemicals, no grit contamination, no damage to soft metals
  • Before and after photos of your carb
+$75added to any clean & rebuild, single carb

Not only carbs. Any aluminum engine part comes back to a factory satin finish, priced by size and condition:

  • Engine cases & side covers
  • Cylinder heads & jugs
  • Intake manifolds & throttle bodies
  • Clutch & water pump covers
  • Vintage & restoration parts

Three ways in.

Flat-rate labor for most single carbs. Sets, odd configurations and severe cases are quoted individually. Parts are extra where needed.

Clean & rebuildFull disassembly, ultrasonic clean, back to original spec.

$120labor, single carb
  • Full disassembly
  • Ultrasonic clean of all circuits and passages
  • Reassembled to original spec
  • Float level set
  • Bench synced
  • Parts quoted separately if needed

Sets & banksInline fours, parallel twins, anything with more than one carb.

Quotedby carb count and configuration
  • Full set cleaned and rebuilt
  • Every carb matched to spec
  • Bench synced as a set
  • Float levels matched across the set
  • Vapor blast upgrade available
  • Parts quoted separately

$120 is labor only. Parts — jets, O-rings, gaskets, needle, seat — are quoted and billed separately. A full OEM-spec rebuild kit replaces the jets, float needle, needle jet and every O-ring and gasket.

Diagnosis and jetting for altitude, air filter, exhaust or performance modifications is quoted with the job. Severely damaged or corroded carbs may need inspection before we can quote. All carb labor is warrantied.

Carbs are the specialty. The shop is full service.

If it has an engine and it's a fit for the shop, we'll work on it — carbureted or EFI.

Engine building

From top-end refreshes to full bottom-up builds, two-stroke and four-stroke, done to spec with quality parts. Every build is quoted individually.

  • Top-end rebuilds — piston, rings, cylinder, head
  • Full bottom-up engine builds
  • 2-stroke and 4-stroke
